Multi-Million Dollar Expansion Progresses at Kewadin Casinos Sault Ste Marie

It was recently revealed that Kewadin Casinos, managed and owned by the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, is starting a new extension project this December, which is worth multi-million dollars.

Major expansion project:

During previous dates this month, Kewadin Casino Sault Ste. Marie site has officially started phase 1 of its exterior refurbishment, which represents part of a major extension project.

Furthermore, Kewadin Casinos represents one of the biggest casino chains in the area and currently owns casinos in five sites across the state. However, its primary and initial location is in Sault Ste. Marie, meaning that it will be the 1st to go through a significant upgrade process.

On a related note, the extension is backed up by the aforementioned tribe, because Kewadin Casino Saul Ste. Marie is known to be huge economic driver in the tribal community and regularly organizes tribal ceremonies and events.

Layout of the phase one:

The aforementioned phase 1 involves some major works on the exterior of the facility, installation of fresh windows and materials over the whole facility. The end envisioned result is a white, smooth building with a contemporary design, according to officials.

As for the internal part of the mentioned expansion, the start is projected in the middle of next month of the following year. Once completed, the entire hotel tower equipped with 268 rooms will be entirely refurbished. Beside this, interior refurbishment also involve adding extra rooms and upgrading individual rooms.

The renovation is being carried out in phases that take haha777 place simultaneously in order not to affect guests in any way. On a related note, normal casino functions will stay open throughout the entire renovation process. As for the exterior refurbishment, it is projected to be completed this ongoing winter and the interior refurbishment by the winter season of 2025, which is when the casino officially celebrate its 40th anniversary.

In this regard, the General Manager of Kewadin Sault Ste. Marie, Dana Schlehuber, commented according to The Sault News: “We celebrated our 38-year anniversary this year and our 40th anniversary will be celebrated in a completely modernized hotel — both inside and out. We’re excited to see the new changes within our hotel and to watch our guests experience us for the first time all over again.”

Specifically for this expansion project of its main location, Kewadin Casinos employed Integrated Designs Inc. for engineering services and architecture and Gundlach Champion to offer construction management services.

As soon as this is finished, Kewadin officials want to continue renovations at more locations, according to them. However, apart from this, no project has been revealed so far.
